Probably everyone on the planet has heard about Pilates, the exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates which restores physical and mental balance. Each of my clients have their own story behind why they started Pilates, but each has experienced the benefits from regular practice.
Pilates provides an all over body workout and by applying the six unique Pilates principles of Alignment, Centre, Breathing, Focus, Control and Flow, exercises can be modified to make them suitably challenging for all ability levels. With regular practice you will soon develop your ‘core strength’.
Pilates exercises are performed either on a mat often using small equipment such as Pilates balls, resistance bands, small weights etc or using specialised Pilates ‘machines’.
